Community Guidelines

Building Together

Our community guidelines ensure WeReally remains a trusted, respectful, and productive space for creating and sharing knowledge.

Core Principles

Respect and Civility

Treat all community members with respect. Disagreements are fine, personal attacks are not.

Good Faith Participation

Contribute honestly and constructively. We're building knowledge together, not competing.

Transparency

Be open about your sources, methods, and potential conflicts of interest.

Quality Over Quantity

Focus on providing well-researched, accurate contributions rather than rushing to post.

Content Standards

Original Contributions

Share your own knowledge or properly attribute others' work. Plagiarism will result in account suspension.

Factual Accuracy

Ensure your contributions are accurate and up-to-date. Cite reliable sources for factual claims.

Appropriate Content

No hate speech, harassment, adult content, or illegal material. Keep it professional.

On-Topic Contributions

Keep posts relevant to the community's focus. Off-topic posts may be moved or removed.

Provenance Requirements

Source Everything

Link to original research, articles, data, or personal experience. Every claim needs a source.

Document Your Chain

If building on others' work, show the full chain from original source to your contribution.

Update When Needed

If source information changes or new evidence emerges, update your contributions.

Quality Sources

Prefer peer-reviewed research, primary sources, and reputable publications over blogs or social media.

Attestation Best Practices

Verify Before Attesting

Only attest to contributions you've personally reviewed and verified. Your reputation is on the line.

Be Objective

Don't attest to friends' work just to help them out. Only attest to quality, accurate contributions.

Explain Your Reasoning

When attesting, explain why you're vouching for this contribution. Help others understand your thinking.

Challenge When Needed

If you find errors, speak up constructively. Questioning bad contributions helps everyone.

Dispute Resolution

Start with Discussion

If you disagree with a contribution, comment respectfully and present your evidence.

Escalate to Community

If discussion doesn't resolve it, flag for community review. Moderators and trusted members will weigh in.

Accept Community Decisions

Once the community decides, accept the outcome gracefully. You can always revisit with new evidence.

Appeal Process

Serious disputes can be appealed to platform administrators with clear documentation.

Community Governance

Participate in Votes

Help your community make decisions on licensing, moderation, and governance.

Earn Trust Scores

Build reputation through quality contributions and peer attestations. Higher trust = more influence.

Respect Community Rules

Each community can set its own additional guidelines. Follow them or find another community.

Help New Members

Welcome newcomers, answer questions, and help them understand the community's norms.
